Ivory Gardens Dissociative Identity Disorder
ABOUT IGDID SUPPORT GROUP AND CHAT ROOMS
We are a community of folks who live with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). We gather here to talk, share experiences, support, and come to know others who have similar issues/successes. As a community, we enjoy open and private discussion in several forums and topics related to dissociation and other conditions that many struggle with daily. We also enjoy the ability to chat in 15 different chat rooms, each for specific topics and age groups including - all with audio/video capabilities:
Our Chat Rooms:
Typing Only Chat
Reaching Out - Crisis Support
General Chat 1
General Chat 2
Littles Safe Room
Junior Chat Room - only open part time, check schedule or up-coming events to see when it will be open.
At member request, posts and chat discussions are private from public view. They are not fed into search engines such as Google or Yahoo as you will find on open boards. As you continue on to the 'forums' section of this site ('Enter Support Forums'), you will be able to view most of the board and get a clear idea of whether this might be a place you would like to belong.
To provide a unique environment where folks who have dissociative identity disorder (DID) can openly and safely talk.
We strive to respect, validate, support, and learn from each other.
Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and administrators. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Adequate guidelines are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board.
Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the board. Staff regularly monitors posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

A BIT OF HISTORY
IGDID was first started in 2007, though many of us have been together for several years. The community began with Cozybear (now deceased) and Felicity. We started the community as a safe place where folks could talk openly without fear of censorship. Our vision and mission, have not changed since the board was founded. Our focus has remained one of respect and validation. We believe that kindness, cooperation, and collaboration is crucial to all of us as we work toward healing.
Our community has now evolved into what we had envisioned. Members are kind, supportive, friendly, accepting, and fantastic in every way. The support forums are always active - averaging about 50-70 members on the board at one time, 500+ posts per day. There are nearly 1500 members, about half of those currently active. Our chat rooms are audio/video interactive and open to advanced members all of the time. We are a community serious about healing and openly sharing and supporting, but also enjoy fun activities like card/gift exchanges, playing games on the board, and chatting with friends.
