Our Goal

OUR GOAL

To provide a unique environment where folks who have experienced trauma can openly and safely talk. We strive to respect, validate, and learn from each other.

ACHIEVING OUR GOAL

Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Terms of Service are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the forums. Staff regularly monitor posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment of learning for everyone.

As a friendly and kind community, we validate each other as equally special and significant.

These forums are active and the community not too large or too small - about 400 post per day. There are many forums on different topics. The topics range in subject matter also. You are welcome to interact as you feel comfortable.

This is a safe place for members. We encourage building coping skills, learning from each other and material shared. We discourage sharing explicit memories of past abuse. We feel that processing memories be done with professionals. There are no practicing therapists on these forums. Therefore, topics that call for therapist type responses are discouraged.

Feel free to look around. Realize that, as a guest, your view of the forums is minimal. These forums are otherwise private to the public view and/or search engines.

We have literally hundreds of articles and provide workshops for everyone. Please feel free to email me anytime with questions. I am also providing a tutorial that should help with navigating our site.

The very best to you,

Things I must do but swear I don't do them.

Post by Guest on Sat Sep 15, 2012 9:09 am

Yesterday I couldn't find my favorite CD that is always in my player. Instead, I found a different CD and figured that someone in my household put it in there. I asked everyone and nobody did it. My son wouldn't lie because I wasn't angry and my daughters are too young and don't know how. It must have been me. I was upset.

Dang, I'm sorry you're going through this, ErinPlus.

This reminds me of the joys of having DID.

Please be gentle with yourself.

The joys of DID. look at this way you know now what another part of you likes in terms of music.Don't be hard on yourself. look at the fun side of this. try asking inside who put the CD in the player and see who comes forward. You might learn something about another alter.

I know how infuriating this can be! Things move all the time in my house and I've come to affectionately call these moments "the grimlins". They seem to take things, move things, and cough them back up at such inopportune times.

(In actuality, I can remember doing something, but it is as if in a dream, and sometimes I don’t remember it at all. So I laugh about it, what else can I do?)

Remember to be kind to yourself, and laugh with your family. Holding on to upset, towards them, or yourself, will cause hardship. And we all know that we need less of that.

LOL, in my house we have an invisible child...her name is Idona, short for I Dunna Know. If I ask. this is the response or 'you did mum.'...I've done some pretty agravating things including missplace my wedding rings (going on three years since I've seen them), and let my dog out at night (which is a no no in our house because she takes off in the middle of the night). This stuff usually happens when I am really stressed out about something. I don't think I do everything weird in my house (like hide the jar of peanut butter under the chair in the livingroom), that one I'm pretty sure is one of my kids.
