Our Goal

OUR GOAL

To provide a unique environment where folks who have experienced trauma can openly and safely talk. We strive to respect, validate, and learn from each other.

ACHIEVING OUR GOAL

Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Terms of Service are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the forums. Staff regularly monitor posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment of learning for everyone.

As a friendly and kind community, we validate each other as equally special and significant.

These forums are active and the community not too large or too small - about 400 post per day. There are many forums on different topics. The topics range in subject matter also. You are welcome to interact as you feel comfortable.

This is a safe place for members. We encourage building coping skills, learning from each other and material shared. We discourage sharing explicit memories of past abuse. We feel that processing memories be done with professionals. There are no practicing therapists on these forums. Therefore, topics that call for therapist type responses are discouraged.

Feel free to look around. Realize that, as a guest, your view of the forums is minimal. These forums are otherwise private to the public view and/or search engines.

We have literally hundreds of articles and provide workshops for everyone. Please feel free to email me anytime with questions. I am also providing a tutorial that should help with navigating our site.

The very best to you,
Felicity Lee

Interested in treating dissociative Identity Disorder and/or Dissociative Disorders.  Learn by attending this conference held in Seattle Oct.3-5th 2014 - go to http://igdid.org/ for more information.

Disclaimer: Ivory Garden is the sole beneficiary of all donations. Do not make checks, money orders, or online donations to any individual.
Please watch this video - click to youtube to watch. Speakers and presentations have been updated as of today (5-9-14). Please take a moment to 'like' it and share it both here and other social networks. We do so appreciate your support.

Ivory Garden is proud to announce that we will be hosting the annual "Trauma & Dissociation Conference" being held October 3rd through the 5th, 2014 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Please go to the "Conference Schedule" tab to see the schedule. The actual conference begins at 8:00 am on Friday.
The conference will focus on clinicians, child abuse survivors, and loved ones working together in order to share knowledge that will empower, enlighten, and benefit each uniquely. Our goal is that trauma survivors will leave the conference with the tools and knowledge that can be used in everyday life; that supporters acquire a better understanding of trauma and dissociation and its effects on survivors; that clinicians gain skills that will be useful when treating dissociative clients.
The conference will be held in Seattle, WA at the DoubleTree by Hilton near Sea-Tac Airport. Please go to the "Hotel and Lodging" tab for more information on rooms and accommodations.
If you would like to register, please go to the form and do so as soon as possible. At this time registration is set up by days. Registration rates will change August 15, 2014.
All of the professional workshops have been approved for credit units by the Washington Chapter, National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists and Licensed Mental Health Counselors. (provider #1975-362). You will find information concerning CEU's on the schedules.
If you are interested in donating or supporting this conference, please go to that tab in the menu. If you don't see an option that suits your needs, please contact Patricia Goodwin at felicity4us2@gmail.com.
Donations are appreciated. We depend on donations in order to put on the conference and for financial scholarships for those in need of help attending the conference.
We apologize that for the comfort of attendees, we must limit this conference to 350 people. We will keep you updated when we begin to fill up.
We thank everyone who has helped to support this conference.
Who is invited?
Survivors of trauma and/or those who have dissociative disorders. We would love to see everyone here. You do not need to be a member of IGDID to go to the conference.
