Our Goal

OUR GOAL

To provide a unique environment where folks who have experienced trauma can openly and safely talk. We strive to respect, validate, and learn from each other.

ACHIEVING OUR GOAL

Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Terms of Service are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the forums. Staff regularly monitor posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment of learning for everyone.

As a friendly and kind community, we validate each other as equally special and significant.

These forums are active and the community not too large or too small - about 400 post per day. There are many forums on different topics. The topics range in subject matter also. You are welcome to interact as you feel comfortable.

This is a safe place for members. We encourage building coping skills, learning from each other and material shared. We discourage sharing explicit memories of past abuse. We feel that processing memories be done with professionals. There are no practicing therapists on these forums. Therefore, topics that call for therapist type responses are discouraged.

Feel free to look around. Realize that, as a guest, your view of the forums is minimal. These forums are otherwise private to the public view and/or search engines.

We have literally hundreds of articles and provide workshops for everyone. Please feel free to email me anytime with questions. I am also providing a tutorial that should help with navigating our site.

The very best to you,

False Memory Syndrome Foundation - why they claim Multiple personality disorder (dissociative identity disorder) doesnt exist
November 5, 2014 at 12:29pm

“Dr. Louis Jolyon “Jolly” West was born in New York City on October 6, 1924. He died of cancer on January 2, 1999. Dr. West served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1948, prior to Air Force LSD and MKULTRA contracts carried out there. He did his psychiatry residency from 1949 to 1952 at Cornell (an MKULTRA Institution and site of the MKULTRA cutout The Human Ecology Foundation). From 1948 to 1956 he was Chief, Psychiatry Service, 3700th USAF Hospital, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas Psychiatrist-in-Chief, University of Oklahoma Consultant in Psychiatry, Oklahoma City Veterans Administration Hospital Consultant in Psychiatry. [...]

Dr. West was co-editor of a book entitled Hallucinations, Behavior, Experience, and Theory[285]. One of the contributors to this book, Theodore Sarbin, Ph.D., is a member of the Scientific and Professional Advisory Board of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation (FMSF). Other members of the FMSF Board include Dr. Martin Orne, Dr. Margaret Singer, Dr. Richard Ofshe, Dr. Paul McHugh, Dr. David Dinges, Dr. Harold Lief, Emily Carota Orne, and Dr. Michael Persinger. The connections of these individuals to the mind control network are analyzed in this and the next two chapters. Dr. Sarbin[272] (see Ross, 1997) believes that multiple personality disorder is almost always a therapist-created artifact and does not exist as a naturally-occurring disorder, a view adhered to by Dr. McHugh [188], [189], Dr. Ofshe [213] and other members of the FMSF Board [191], [243].Dr. Ofshe is a colleague and co-author of Dr. Singer [214], who is in turn a colleague and co-author of Dr. West [329]. Denial of the reality of multiple personality by these doctors in the mind control network, who are also on the FMSF Scientific and Professional Advisory Board, could be disinformation. The disinformation could be amplified by attacks on specialists in multiple personality as CIA conspiracy lunatics [3], [79], [191], [213].

The FMSF is the only organization in the world that has attacked the reality of multiple personality in an organized, systematic fashion. FMSF Professional and Advisory Board Members publish most of the articles and letters to editors of psychiatry journals hostile to multiple personality disorder.”

I was diagnosed in 1991/92 with DID- and I confronted my abuser(father) in 1993. Good church people got parents involved with FMSF and they had a local group to talk with. Mother told me about it...
But then nothing was said,

After parents passed and cleaning out papers, came upon literature from FMSF- and their involvement, with my brother who disowned me. But found nothing dated after 1998...

My T and pdoc were very protective of me back then, and told parents- who attempted to use some tactics to get info on me- that they had no legal rights. They stopped. But strange, my brother is a lawyer, and he didn't follow thru either...

Interesting reading but causing so much pain, FMSF is horrible.

..." and I said to my body, softly, ' I want to be your friend.' it took a long breath and replied, ' I have been waiting my whole life for this' "...

Felicity when I read your post my response was Oh how I wish it was true.

If it was true we would be so different. loved and nurtured as a child. My parents would have been proud of us and let me be myself, supporting me and comforting me when distressed, showing delight at our success.

They would have protected me and I would not have suffered at the hands of ev*l men.

I would have been well and had a good schooling and job. I might have a family of my own and a group of friends.

My head would be clear of noises we would be able to cope with life.

OH please let it be true. Please let us wake up and it all be true.

Sadly if that was our memory we would have a False memory of happiness.

The truth is much worse we don't have FMS unfortunately what we suffered and what we still suffer each day because of our past is very real.

Being clever and having lots of qualifications does not make them right but it does make them dangerous.

FMS is not listed in any medical resource particularly the DSM in any of the issues.
Enough said.

Those who promote FMS are just trying to protect their own necks and to live in their own little worlds where they were the perfect parents. "No, nothing happened, my daughter/son is just making things up and I don't know why."  Really. Then why have I been in therapy for over 25 years? Why have I tried su 4 times in my life? Why do I struggle everyday with things that most people find every day and mundane such as sleep? I guess so long as we know the truth, that these things really did happen it is enough. I support all of you in your quest for recovery from abuse that should never have happened but did. We're in this together. I'm lighting a candle to the people who are suffering in silence because they have been bullied by these people into believing their horrible lies. May they find peace. Morgan
