Our Goal

OUR GOAL

To provide a unique environment where folks who have experienced trauma can openly and safely talk. We strive to respect, validate, and learn from each other.

ACHIEVING OUR GOAL

Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Terms of Service are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the forums. Staff regularly monitor posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment of learning for everyone.

As a friendly and kind community, we validate each other as equally special and significant.

These forums are active and the community not too large or too small - about 400 post per day. There are many forums on different topics. The topics range in subject matter also. You are welcome to interact as you feel comfortable.

This is a safe place for members. We encourage building coping skills, learning from each other and material shared. We discourage sharing explicit memories of past abuse. We feel that processing memories be done with professionals. There are no practicing therapists on these forums. Therefore, topics that call for therapist type responses are discouraged.

Feel free to look around. Realize that, as a guest, your view of the forums is minimal. These forums are otherwise private to the public view and/or search engines.

We have literally hundreds of articles and provide workshops for everyone. Please feel free to email me anytime with questions. I am also providing a tutorial that should help with navigating our site.

The very best to you,

Accessing the forums with mobile devices - please read.

Post by felicity on 1/19/2017, 1:01 pm

I have had several member say that they are unable to log in and/or access forums using mobile devices - especially iphones.

I do have an iphone and recently had the same problem. It took me awhile to fix it, but I did find the problem.

If you are having this problem, go to your settings and allow cookies for this site. If you want to delete the cookies when you leave, the option for this is at the very bottom of the forum - in the classic version - just above the 'statistics' on the right hand side.

If you are still having problems, post here so that we can make sure everyone is gaining access to the forums.

If you are not a 'member' of this forum, please click on the 'apply' option in the menu before trying to access. 'Registering' to the forum is an option for those who have already applied and been approved access.

Thanks so much for your patience. If you have further questions, please email me.

I use Android. When I get on, it freezes and then closes the browser.

I think the problem happened when I updated my Iphone - because it worked fine before. But, somehow my settings got set to blocking cookies. This forum depends on loading cookies. At least, I couldn't log in - it just kept going back to the main page - which others were describing. Very distressing - then, I looked at my settings - changed them, for this site only - and, it worked.

Maybe, the androids aren't having any problems - good to hear.

Since no one else was having any issues with their android, I opened it with chrome instead and got on fine. So, I guess the main browser on my phone can't load the forum without crashing but chrome can handle it.

I tried allowing all cookies on my iPad and iPhone and could not get that to work (in Safari), but after the suggestions here, I used chrome as my web engine and was able to log in with no problems. Thanks.

sounds like Chrome is the browser of choice for people on different devices. Firefox will still work well with computers

Yes, the problem with chrome was that it showed the forum as not secure - even though it was very secure - it was looking for the https format - now that is taken care of - so, chrome should be working fine. I get in fine with safari, once I allowed cookies for the site.
