Our Goal

OUR GOAL

To provide a unique environment where folks who have experienced trauma can openly and safely talk. We strive to respect, validate, and learn from each other.

ACHIEVING OUR GOAL

Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Terms of Service are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the forums. Staff regularly monitor posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment of learning for everyone.

As a friendly and kind community, we validate each other as equally special and significant.

These forums are active and the community not too large or too small - about 400 post per day. There are many forums on different topics. The topics range in subject matter also. You are welcome to interact as you feel comfortable.

This is a safe place for members. We encourage building coping skills, learning from each other and material shared. We discourage sharing explicit memories of past abuse. We feel that processing memories be done with professionals. There are no practicing therapists on these forums. Therefore, topics that call for therapist type responses are discouraged.

Feel free to look around. Realize that, as a guest, your view of the forums is minimal. These forums are otherwise private to the public view and/or search engines.

We have literally hundreds of articles and provide workshops for everyone. Please feel free to email me anytime with questions. I am also providing a tutorial that should help with navigating our site.

The very best to you,

Parts have gone

Post by teamsheree on 8/14/2017, 2:18 am

I have started a new med and my parts have gone. I feel empty and alone and scared. I can't feel them. I went out today and felt like a singleton. It was scary and unnerving. I feel like I am grieving their loss.

This happens to me also. They are still there with you. I do have some that have been gone for a long time. I also have some that have blended with some of our front alters. Things change around for us quite a bit. I can sometimes see our alters when I close my eyes when I am laying down. It's all part of having DID. I don't like that feeling either when you don't feel them with you. Some get tired and go deep inside to rest or sleep. Some only come out when they feel they are needed or when I get really stressed, upset or scared. Hope this helps. We are here for you.

teamsheree,

I know what that's about. One of our inners, who was a major part of our system, disappeared a long time ago. It threw us into a mess. When we were put on lexapro at the highest dosage (20 milligrams), the ability to feel emotions or any of us went away. Not only was it scary that I thought I lost every part close to me, I felt lonely and not able to think. They did eventually come back, but not all of them at once.
So yeah, we've experienced this, too. I really get the sadness and loneliness.

I'm sitting here with you and hoping you'll feel better.

Hey there. I am so sorry you are experiencing such a difficult time.
We are feeling a bit non-communicative right now but some of us nudged another to post at least this, and our understanding and empathy.
I hear you, it has happened to us before, but sometimes...we just go silent. It is very hard for the one left, but eventually, someone else comes back.
In a lot of instances, it is because of a change somewhere, whether it be medication, life changes, etc.
We do hope you feel better soon. We are listening and caring.

Best,
-Cecil et al

Hey - hi - we have missed you tons, but still you are always in our heart -

We have had this happen also especially with Abilify - and we were told by pdoc that med with actually 'stop' switching - also with the blood pressure meds, because (as we were told), a person must raise blood pressure in order to switch.

But, they are still there - always will be - maybe not as distinct as we become closer to one - but still there. We are completely co-conscious now - that making us even more aware of each other. If that made sense.

Maybe, ask about this med and see if you can find out what is going on. Why might this be happening?

So glad to see you back!!

Good early morning from the USA....

I'm just getting to know many of my parts. So frightening to think about them going away just after having met them. I really believe your parts are with with you. They have been subdued, sleeping as it were. You said you just started a new med. Surely you and your doctor can find a substitute.

My internal family is sitting with you. Please let all of us know how you're doing today
