Our Goal

OUR GOAL

To provide a unique environment where folks who have experienced trauma can openly and safely talk. We strive to respect, validate, and learn from each other.

ACHIEVING OUR GOAL

Achieving our goal requires cooperative collaboration amongst members and staff. Members posts remain appropriate and relevant to topics. Terms of Service are clearly posted to help members maintain the dignity of the board. Members of this group are at a stage in their healing to independently regulate their own behavior, as well as keeping themselves safe while on the forums. Staff regularly monitor posts and replies to ensure the board remains a safe and comfortable environment of learning for everyone.

As a friendly and kind community, we validate each other as equally special and significant.

These forums are active and the community not too large or too small - about 400 post per day. There are many forums on different topics. The topics range in subject matter also. You are welcome to interact as you feel comfortable.

This is a safe place for members. We encourage building coping skills, learning from each other and material shared. We discourage sharing explicit memories of past abuse. We feel that processing memories be done with professionals. There are no practicing therapists on these forums. Therefore, topics that call for therapist type responses are discouraged.

Feel free to look around. Realize that, as a guest, your view of the forums is minimal. These forums are otherwise private to the public view and/or search engines.

We have literally hundreds of articles and provide workshops for everyone. Please feel free to email me anytime with questions. I am also providing a tutorial that should help with navigating our site.

The very best to you,

I'm New and Afraid to Talk

Post by Haze12 on 8/29/2017, 5:13 pm

Hey, so, I don't really know a lot about all this but I'd like some advice...
I'm 12 years old and my host is 17 and named Hazel, and I don't have a name but I like the nickname Haze so that's what I like being called.
I know we have DID because I'm co-conscious sometimes and we go to therapy and stuff. But I've never talked to anyone except for when I've been fronting a few times but then I just pretend I'm Laura (another alter) because she's easy to pretend to be.
I'm not really sure if I'm a fragment or an alter or whatever because I don't really know much and sometimes I miss things and so I don't know.... All the stuff I'm reading about DID is really confusing me (I'm not very good at comprehending I don't think).
So, anyway, that's me, and Hazel is doing kinda pretty well in therapy with communicating with the others and all that stuff, and she's anxious and all but I think she's pretty happy right now... she hasn't had anyone new in a long time and now I'm here and I'm scared to talk to anyone because I'm afraid they won't like me or will be upset that I'm here and messing everything up.
Our psychologist scares me because she's all happy and encouraging with Hazel's progress and I don't think I'm progress...
I'm just really really scared to tell anyone that I'm here, but I like being around and I'm afraid they'll notice me soon...
So I came here because it seemed nice and safe and I thought other people like me could maybe tell me what I should do...

Hello Haze, it's nice to meet you. I'm sure it's fine. If not someone one here will move it. I thinks it's cool you are here and brave of you to let yourself be known. I'm kinda in your place. I'm don't know a lot about who I am. Just that I'm apart of Confused, and man are we really confused. I'm sure Hazel is going to be happy to meet you and so will the t. Anyway, hope to hear from you real soon. I'm Brice and this is the first time I have been on here. I like the name Haze. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hi, Haze, and welcome! I'm sure it's fine for you to be here, although we also have a teen place you could come over to...I think 12 would be okay there but as Brice said, there's some mods here who will move posts if they are better somewhere else.

It can be scary to have people outside see you and know you. I tried this out with our t, and it was not so bad...we're pretty co-conscious, but now she can tell when it's me.

Oh, I'm Elizabeth and I'm 15. Glad you are here (and you too, Brice).

Hi Elizabeth and Brice! It's so cool to meet you guys! I think I like talking to people :) I'm just scared they won't like me. This is a really cool website. I hope they let me stay.
Is t short for therapist or something? I see it a lot.
I like Haze too! I think I might keep it. It's a really cool name.
I'm sorry about you being confused :( I hope you can get less confused maybe.
Do you think the others in the teen place would like me even though I'm just 12?

Maybe I'll try talking to Hazel... she's nice. But I don't know what to say to her.

And sorry this is really jumpy I'm new at talking to people.

I would 'apply' to the forum - https://form.phishing-site.www/42825330774961 - you will receive further instructions from there.

This is a public forum - where you posted, and you are unable to see the rest of the board - which is private. As soon as you become a member, we can move the post to the private part of the forum - where the public can't see it. If you don't care, then you are welcome to post here - of course. We also have many resources on this forum that you can access without membership.

At any rate, welcome.
